boo

I have laryngitis and I sound like a mixture between a frog, and a gross 70 year old smoker with a hole in her throat.

This is not fun.

I saw superbad for the first time last night.

It was worse than I thought it was going to be.

I kind of thought it was dumb.

It bugged me how unrealistic the cops were in the end.

I feel like it was everyone's worst movie. Michael Cera has done better, Jonah Hill has done better, Seth Rogan has done better, it just was kind of lame.

Oh but hey, im going to try to start reading the bible everyday... again...

but like... not just once a day. like... just on my off time. because i don't really have a life. and i feel like God is better than sleeping my life away.

So i had this plan a while back that i was going to read the bible cover to cover... and well... i stopped in Leviticus... because its just so dang boring! its the same rituals over and over and over and over and over just one slight difference for a certain sin. but that doesn't mean it's not thoroughly explained still.

but!!!

i got to a place last night where i was able to read it, and instead of thinking how horrible it was, i started thanking God for the fact that we don't have to do that anymore. That Jesus was and is the ultimate sacrifice. and really, i mean... Leviticus is full of different types of sacrifices, so it shows how much sacrificing we would be doing if it wasn't for Jesus.

so yeah.

I'm posting this to kind of keep myself accountable.

I'm on Leviticus 5. or well... i finished it last night so i guess i'm on 6. but whatever.

bleh.

i'm done with my drumstick. :[ i want more but i know ill feel worse.

Thats crazy less than a half an hour ago I sat down to read the bible and thought...I don't want to read this. I've been in the new testament. So I went back and ended up in 1 Samuel. I read about Hannah it was interesting. But I do understand what you mean and think it's very good you reading in your spare time. I've been thinking about that lately. I don't watch as much Tv but I substituted that with the internet. I'll have to pick up and do like you and read in my spare time. This post was encouraging.

Still have not seen super bad! I guess now I know why! LOl it kinda looks stupid!

About the bible....I've tried and said so many times I am going to read the bible all the way through this time! And its just so hard... because your right... it can be boring! But one day I had been praying for motivation to read the bible and (this is kinda stupid) asking God why its such a big deal to read the word... Because you just know God loves me!!! right?! HA anyways that night as I was reading the bible he gave me this verse that stuck with me. 2 timothy 3:16 All scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right.

LOL anyways I just thought it was kinda cool and I wanted to share it with you!

One day when I was like 8 years old I sat down, opened to Genesis, and started reading. Something like 8 or 9 years later I finished Revelation. It took a while, but I got it done.

I just started to read the Bible from Genesis again~ like the fifth time my whole entire life.. but when I got to the middle of Exodus~ my friend says it is better to read the bible starting from the new testament.. what do you think bout that??

I wouldn't say that it is better or worse to read from the New Testament. I think there are a lot of very interesting stories worth reading in the OT like of prophets and crazy encounters with the spiritual realm, also it shows God's power and mightiness through plagues. and also shows his grace through holding back from his wrath.

The old testament can be a bit slow at times, but if you really set a goal to just get through it and understand it fully, it can be more interesting than you thought. Leviticus is the most tedious, but it gets better through numbers cause there are more actual stories.

I suggest reading it all, if you can. but if not then just try the new testament, and maybe God will stir a passion in you to read the history of it all. I like the OT because it kind of sets up all of the stories in the New Testament.
